She can often be found in her own studio creating custom works from a variety of mediums. Tay founded 'Elegant Crumb' with the hopes of using her artistic talents to share with others to create long lasting memories, whether it be creating ornaments or doing Art classes and workshops. The idea for Art by Tay came about through experiences with friends and family that suffered with terminal and life-threatening illnesses including the loss of her beloved grandmother to bone marrow cancer. Treatments and hospital stays are emotionally painful and stressful. When Tay was going through her own radiation, she started to research naturopathic alternative treatments and Art Therapy. Tays hope was to alleviate emotional pain and stress and provide hope and comfort. To honour her grandmother's memory Tay continues to pursue the goal to provide hope and comfort through Art Therapy. Helping other families leave a legacy for their loved ones with handcrafted memorials, and help create lasting memories for her clients to share for years to come is what drives Tay emotionally and creatively.
With her extensive background in the arts and business management as a design consultant, and Advertising and Marketing Executive for over a decade in addition to being a Director of a National Wedding Magazine, Tay established a charitable organization for children with life threatening illnesses and diseases using art therapy. Tay continues to receive strong support and accolades from politicians, health care workers, industry partners, alliances and friends in pursuing her business.
"I feel using art therapy can benefit many sick children trying to cope with illness. I want to provide these kids hope and comfort. So why not use my talents to teach others to do the same?” ~ Tay, Winnipeg Free Press
