 This week I had the privilege of taking a class taught by Annette Taylor, a/k/a/ Art by Tay, which was for writing on cookies. Taking her writing class was the best decision I have made since I started making cookies. It is definitely worth the investment, and it will not be my last class with her. Annette is so down to earth and makes you feel so at ease. The lesson does not just stop when the class is over, as she is available for follow up questions whenever you need her. I really appreciate her time. I have just started my cookie making journey and I have a long way to go, especially with the writing. I was really struggling with the writing on cookies and the consistency of icing, but she had me do things that I didn’t even know I could.  Having recently attended a 1:1 session with Annette - all I can saw is wow! Even before the lesson, Annette provided me with a great workbook which included recipes, hints & tips. The lesson itself was informative - learnt heaps and really helped me gain confidence in a range of cookie making and decorating techniques.  Recently I took a fantastic private class from Annette, of Artbytay!  She’s a very talented designer, who has great ideas, tips, and communications skills with her students.  With all her class offerings, it was hard to  decide which techniques to work on.  We finally settled on her Easter Cookie instruction.  However, she actually tailored my class to address my current needs, to also learn how to be a virtual teacher myself.  Besides all her many skills and the ability to share them, her positive attitude and encouragement was wonderful.  Thank you Annette for a great class.  I look forward to another one down the road! Hi ! My name is Anne. I took a virtual cookie class from Annette to help me with Royal Icing Consistency. The virtual class was so much better than watching videos as I had been doing. Annette walked me they each step. We worked together making the initial recipe. She directed me until I had the right consistency. Annette was so easy to work with. Keeping me on track and focused during the entire class. (My mind can easily wonder ..lol) I was nervous with making icing before this. She taught me not to stop too soon or go to far with adding water. However she showed me what to do if I needed to correct it, when I added too much . We then decorated a few cookies together. Her technique was much faster for me Annette was a very patient, knowledgeable and fun teacher. It honestly felt like we were together working side by side in the same place!!! I would highly recommend Annette’s class.
